Dragons Lore

Help

The questions people ask most about Dragons Lore, answered. If yours is not here, write to us.

Do my players have to pay?

No. Players never pay. Only the Game Master who owns a campaign needs a plan, and the free plan includes 1 campaign with up to 5 players. Players join with a free account and bring their own characters.

Which games does it support?

Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, under either the 2014 or the 2024 rules, and Pathfinder 2nd Edition. Character sheets, dice, conditions and rests follow the rules of the game your campaign plays.

Is it a virtual tabletop?

It includes one: maps with tokens, initiative tracking and shared 3D dice. But Dragons Lore is built for everything around the session too - your world, its people and places, the party's characters, journals and the story so far - so it works just as well for groups who play in person.

Can I try it before I sign up?

Yes. Arcanis Adventures is a real campaign built with Dragons Lore - explore its party, maps and lore without an account.

Can I bring a character I already have?

Yes. Bring your character to the campaign, link its public character sheet, and press Update from the linked sheet - you choose which parts to take. Or build one from scratch with the guided character builder. Every character lives in your own library and can join any campaign that plays the same game.

What does a paid plan add?

GM Pro ($5.99 a month) removes the limits on campaigns and players and gives you more storage for maps and artwork. GM Pro Plus ($9.99 a month) doubles that storage for worlds with a lot of files. Yearly billing costs less.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free. Nothing is deleted - campaigns, players and files all stay. You just can't add more than the free plan allows until you upgrade again.

Is my campaign private?

Yes, by default. Only the people you invite can see it, and secrets you mark as GM-only stay hidden from players. You can choose to make a campaign public; even then, we never list it for search engines.

Can I take my data with me?

Any time. Download everything in your account - characters, notes and every campaign you own - from your account page. You can delete your account there too.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Players and GMs get dashboards made for small screens, and you can add the site to your home screen to use it like an app at the table.
